I started painting late in life. During our time in Uganda I already wanted to organize workshops and invite a local painter and of course also take lessons myself. Life steered me in a different direction and I'm mostly self-taught, a lot of trial and error.

Painting puts me firmly with my two feet in the 'now'. It is a continuous journey of discovery. Fascinating and challenging.
I like variety and you can see that in the subjects I paint. Sometimes I have to step back and let it "mature". That is why I am usually working on 3 to 4 paintings at the same time.
